Block 01: Test Site Entrance
Diana: Now we can go to the Comms Tower!
Hugh: Can’t tell if we’ll actually get through to Earth, but… they need to know about my team.
Hugh: The heck!?
Diana: Kitty cat!
Hugh: Hey, wait! …Kids.
Diana: No! Come back!
Hugh: DIANA! What are you doing!? Are you trying to hurt yourself?
Diana: If I break, you can just fix me back up.
Hugh: That’s not the point! You have to be more careful. If something happened to you I’d… I’d be in real trouble.
Diana: In real trouble…? Why?
Hugh: I mean, well, you best… think on that yourself.
Diana: OK, I will.
Hugh: Well, we got cats. Where are all the people? A cat was the last thing I was expecting…
Hugh: You really can make everything with lunafilament, huh.
Diana: They don’t have it on Earth?
Hugh: Nah, testing’s been limited to the mood, as far as I know. People back home have only heard about stuff like this.
Diana: Does that mean there are no Pragmata?
Hugh: No clue, but I’ve sure as heck never seen a bot that needs as much watching as you do.
Diana: Is that a bad thing?
Hugh: Nah, you keep things interesting. That’s good.
Block 02: Shopping District
Diana: Look! I think that’s the Comms Tower!
Hugh: What? Where?
Diana: There! That big one, right in the middle!
Hugh: Whoa!
Diana: Woow!
Hugh: *whistles* Would ya look at that. Looks a bit like New York.
Diana: New York…? Is that a place on Earth?
Hugh: Yeah. In America.
Diana: So many lights and signs! I can’t decide what to look at first!
IDUS: Hello. This is IDUS. Due to an unidentified interference, this area has been secured. Mass printing will resume shortly.
Hugh: Damn, so that’s how it is?
Diana: IDUS isn’t very nice, is it? I think we need to disable the lock codes on the local access beacons to reach the Comms Tower.
Hugh: Uh, so where to?
Diana: I don’t know—try scanning.
Hugh: What in the—!
Diana: It almost had us!
Hugh: Yeah, nice moves, kid.
Diana: Is New York City always like this?
Hugh: This isn’t really the city, it’s more like your average shopping area.
Diana: Earth sure has a lot of places!
Hugh: Yeah, there’s also a ton of stuff you can’t find on the moon.
Diana: Really!? I wanna see!
Diana: Look! There’s a bunch of dolls all lined up!
Hugh: This… It’s a, uh, mannequin. They’re made to look like humans to show off clothes and stuff. They might look the part, but real people got that… lifeblood in ‘em.
Diana: Right, and no blood means no moving!
Hugh: No, I mean, humans got a certain… warmth to ‘em.
Diana: Oh oh oh, over 36 degrees Celsius, right?
Hugh: No… Just forget it.
Diana: There’s a beacon! It’s so close…!
Hugh: Come on. There’s gotta be another way.
Diana: Hm, how are we gonna reach that beacon?
Hugh: When there’s no clear way through, the only choice is up.
Diana: I can’t access the beacon with these bots in the way!
Diana: There!
Hugh: This is gonna take forever… Can’t we just, pop ‘em all at once?
Diana: They aren’t connected, so… I don’t think so…
Diana: Does Earth really look like this?
Hugh: You’ve really been left in the dark, huh? Didn’t anyone ever teach you this stuff?
Diana: Nope: I was left in sleep mode for so long… And when I woke up, the vault was all… messed up.
Hugh: Must have been the quakes… There was no one else?
Diana: No, nobody.
Hugh: All alone, huh? I know the feeling.
Diana: I can’t wait to get that to the Shelter!
Block 03: Interconnecting Passage
Hugh: Whoa! That’s convenient!
Diana: Thank you, Mr. Replicator!
Hugh: All right. But no cats this time.
Diana: Why?
Hugh: I don’t need you crawling off the side of a bridge going after it again. Got it?
Diana: I won’t do that again.
Hugh: Good.
Diana: You said “Best think on that yourself.” See? I can do that!
Hugh: Wow. Word for word…
Diana: Because I wrote what you said to my memory cores!
Hugh: Look! It’s that big ol’ piece of junk again!
Diana: Look! There’s something coming out of its face! Those antennas are in the way!
Hugh: Are they blocking your hack?
Diana: I can see a beacon over there on that roof!
Hugh: All right, that’s three.
Diana: We’re already halfway there!
Hugh: Glass half full, huh.
Diana: I wonder what that is!
Diana: Did you hear that?
Hugh: Ooh, getting close to snack time…
Diana: Do humans really need to eat more than once a day? Your energy efficiency doesn’t seem good.
Hugh: Sure, that’s fair, but sharing a meal is more than just recharging. I was an orphan, so at dinner with my new family, just having someone that’d listen was magical. It was all kid stuff, but… They were always there. Talking with someone, who just accepts you for you, is a kind of nourishment, but… for your soul.
Diana: You can get nutrients from talking?
Hugh: Something like that…
IDUS: Intruders detected. Please remove them from the premises.
IDUS: Removal time exceeding estimate. Deploy reinforcements.
Hugh: Two more to go.
Diana: We can do this, Hugh!
Hugh: Having fun?
Diana: Yeah!
Block 04: Business District
Diana: Ohh, what’s that weird stuff?
Hugh: What is this stuff? Is this… lunafilament?
Diana: I don’t think so. Its basic compositional structure seems a bit off.
Hugh: It’s all messed up… like it’s glitched out or something.
Block 05: Recycling Control
Diana: One more to go!
Hugh: All right! It’s all downhill from here. Hold on to your heinie!
Diana: My what?
Hugh: Like something out of an amusement park here…
Diana: A-A where?
Hugh: I’ll tell you later!
Hugh: End of the…road? Looks like our only way out is down. I had a feeling this would happen.
Diana: Me too!
Diana: Hey! Let me see!
Hugh: Diana—don’t! OK…
Diana: I think I see how it works. I should be able to break this down. I’m gonna try something. Yes! How was that? I wanna do my part! I know I can help!
Hugh: Glad to hear it. I’m counting on you, kiddo.
Diana: Roger that!
Diana: Hugh, this spot’s all clean!
Hugh: Fast work! I appreciated it.
Diana: Phew, we did it!
Hugh: You’re doing great, Diana.
Diana: Hehehe! You’re doing great, Hugh.
Hugh: Haha… Thank you.
Block 06: Comms Tower Plaza
Diana: The gate’s gone!
Hugh: And so are we. Let’s get to that tower! Earth needs to know what’s going on here. About my team…
Diana: That what the Comms Tower’s for!
Hugh: I hope it’s that simple.
IDUS: Greetings. This is IDUS. Enacting attack protocol. Permission to commit acts of controlled violence—granted. Eliminate this excess life form for the preservation of our pristine home.
Diana: Hugh…? We’re not alone. Over there!
Hugh: Not again! No way… Aaargh! This day just keeps on getting worse!
Diana: The Creator is just WAY too big. That’s against station regulations! There are other weak points, besides its head, but they won’t appear unless we hack it.
Hugh: Big thing like that, we should try to keep it cracked, if we can.
Diana: Get closer to where we opened it! Defenses are down! I can’t get in! It’s got jammers up!
Hugh: Those damn red things again! Add them to my list of things to smash!
Diana: I can’t hack with its antennas up! Check the front for antennas! Get away from the blue circles! I can still sense an antenna somewhere! It still has a jammer on its rear side! Watch out. It’s trying something new.
Hugh: Whoa! It just made those buildings outta nothing!
Diana: I think it’s using the MPA’s replicator!
Hugh: This is some BS!
Diana: Here comes a big one! head to higher ground!
Hugh: What do you mean higher ground?
Diana: Up there! On those buildings! Whatever you do, don’t jump down!
Hugh: You’re a lifesaver, Diana!
Diana: We gotta move back!
Hugh: We did it! How’s this thing still standing!? Hwuh!?
Diana: Hugh!
Hugh: UGH! UHHH!
Diana: WHA! AH-AHHH!
Hugh: You OK?
Diana: Agh… Yeah!
Hugh: Y-You got this?
Diana: Uh… maybe! Accessing local control matrix: Initiate!
Hugh: Diana! You all right?
Diana: I fell down again…
Hugh: Hey, don’t sweat it. Teammates look out for each other. And we’re a team, right?
Diana: The Comms Tower! We made it!
Hugh: Yeah. Let’s go. I gotta call home.
Diana: We can do more things at the Shelter now!
Hugh: Yeah, but first, I gotta get in touch with Earth.
Hugh: Empty. Same as everywhere else. Man, IDUS again. I can’t do anything. Or can I? Let’s see. How about here… The Terra Dome? And we’ve got these other stops as well… There’s gotta be something there we can use… OK, transports. Yeah—wonder if they’re still online.
Diana: Look! It’s back!
Cat: Can you hear me? Please respond.
Hugh: The heck?
Cat: I’m so glad I found you.
Diana: Who are you?
Cat: It’s me. Eight.
Diana: Eight?
Eight: I borrowed that little one to contact you. It’s good we found each other.
Hugh: You’re a survivor?
Eight: Yes. I was caught in the moonquake and am trapped here. There’s no way out. I can’t even move. You have to help me. I must get to Earth.
Diana: Uh oh…
Eight: Please. There’s not time…
Diana: Wait!
Hugh: Hey! It’s like she knew you. You two’ve met?
Diana: I don’t know, but… She needs us!
Hugh: Hmm.
Diana: Hugh! Please!
Hugh: Well, there’s something going down. Let’s go find out what.
Diana: Right!
Back to the Shelter
Station AI: A new destination has been added to the tram line. The Terra Dome is now accessible.
Hugh: Once we’re good to go, let’s head to the Terra Dome and help Eight.
