These dialogues were added thanks to the participation of a wonderful Redditor! Thank you to him/her and to the video he/she sent us of these dialogues so that we could add them!

FBC staff: Uh, hello?

FBC staff: Is she new?

FBC staff: Who’s she? And why is she breaking dress code? Is that the new Director?

FBC staff: Is that the Service Weapon?

FBC staff: I’ve never seen her before. She must be new.

FBC staff: Is she the one Pope was telling us about?

FBC staff: Hm, I don’t recognize her.

FBC staff: Who’s she?

FBC staff: Huh… must be a new hire.

FBC staff 1: Who’s that?
FBC staff 2: That’s the woman Pope mentioned. Faden or something?
FBC staff 3: She’s the new Director. Good luck out there.

FBC staff: I can’t believe we have a new Director. Let’s hope she up to it.

FBC staff 1: Collins, any word on survivors?
FBC staff 2: We’ve located numerous safe rooms with survivors inside. We’re waiting on HRAs before we open them. Once we can safely bring them out, the survivors will be escorted here straight away.
FBC staff 1: Wonderful. Keep me updated.

FBC staff 1: Situation report. All sectors.
FBC staff 2: Executive is in the process of being fortified, as per your orders. Maintenance is relatively stable. A security employee named Arish has apparently prevented multiple key locations from being taken by the Hiss. Research is overrun with a small team currently holding the HR lab. Containment is, well… it’s gone dark. No one’s heard anything from them since the attack. Let’s hope no news is good news.
FBC staff 1: Let’s hope.

FBC staff: These readings are erratic even for the Oldest House. The Hiss is tampering with it somehow, agitating it. Matching frequencies maybe? Physical alterations in Hiss corrupted organisms vary so wildly. What’s the connection? The resonance emitted from the HRAs is purely antithetical to every variant of the Hiss signal I can arrange. But how did Darling create it? If the slide projector requires a slide to open dimensional doorways, then which is the Object of Power? The slide or the slide projector? Or is the distinction itself a fallacy? Where are the files on parasitic entities I asked for?

FBC staff 1: I found a couple of relevant files in Dr. Darling’s office. I’d have to dig through the archives for the rest, but I’m not going through the Panopticon. Not with the Altered Items loose.
FBC staff 2: Then go see if any Ranger squads are available for a file retrieval mission. There haven’t been any Hiss sightings in the Ocean View Motel. Could survivors be hiding inside?
FBC staff 1: It’s possible. I remember a report about a similar incident from 84. The Bureau lost contact with a whole department during a House Shift. The department head was found in the motel two years later, his arm stuck in the vending machine.
FBC staff 2: Make a note to send in a search party when possible.

FBC staff 1: Who moved my waveform of the Hiss recording?
FBC staff 2: Sorry, ma’am. I took them. Uh, Darling asked for any visual materials to be stowed for future instructional videos. He asked for anything that looks particularly good in a backdrop.
FBC staff 1: Inform all research staff that any instructional videos are postponed indefinitely. And don’t ever touch my work again. If you have any more questions, just ask. Look, I know this is all new to you, so don’t hesitate to ask me anything you want to know. There are no stupid questions.

FBC staff: Oh my god. Did she have to write everything in her made-up gibberish code? Fucking Marshall with her CIA spy shit, God… We got to be methodical. Clean out every last Hiss with one thorough sweep room by room. But… if there’s a building shift and even one gets behind our line, then…. Fuck, this place is a pain in the ass sometimes!

FBC staff 1: Any luck finding the armory?
FBC staff 2: None. Looks like it got shifted. We have Rangers checking each sector.
FBC staff 1: Fuck! Whose side is the House on? All right, we’ll keep teams looking and post a watch on the old location just in case it shifts back. We need that fucking ammo.

FBC staff 1: Hey, I found a file on the old Director. Northmoor? Didn’t list any date of death. You, uh… you know anything about that?
FBC staff 2: Could be an error. The record staff process a lot of data. Maybe it just slipped through.
FBC staff 1: Yeah. Maybe.

FBC staff 1: I need the containment protocols for every Altered Item or Object of Power with an audio related effect.
FBC staff 2: I’ll send a team to contact Langston and get that information, sir. If he asks why, what do we tell him?
FBC staff 1: Tell him that Hiss works through sound. So I need counter measures designed for similar Altered Items should be considered for field use.

FBC staff: Fuck, if they’re in there and we go around that way… now… Two squads lost. Christ. How did I get settled with this job? Oh, where the fuck did Marshall go? It’s just keep coming, man.

FBC staff: I can’t believe the emergency rations don’t include beer. Fucking thirsty. What a fucking day.

FBC staff 1: I can’t get over what happened to Booker, to Smith, the others. Why did they start acting like that?
FBC staff 2: That red light got him. But honestly, I don’t know what happened.
FBC staff 1: I keep thinking about the pulsing under his skin and those words. They’re stuck in my head.

FBC staff 1: Where’s Marshall? Or Trench? How come no one’s taking charge here?
FBC staff 2: You didn’t hear? Trench is dead. There’s a new Director, apparently.
FBC staff 1: New director? Who the fuck is it? Did they neutralize Trench?
FBC staff 2: Keep your voice down.

FBC staff 1: The Executive sector is supposed to have a designated security team here for our protection. Where the hell are they?
FBC staff 2: If the internal lockdown is in effect, then they can’t use the elevator to reach us. We’re on our own.
FBC staff 1: I can’t believe they didn’t think of these things when they installed the lockdown system.

FBC staff 1: Thank god we’re out of that safe room. I was suffocating in there.
FBC staff 2: Oxygen’s pumped into the rooms. There was never any risk of suffocating.
FBC staff 1: Hey, I know what I felt. They’re too small. Executive staff should get bigger safe rooms.

FBC staff 1: Pope wants us to get a field lab set up as soon as possible.
FBC staff 2: With what? We can’t get any equipment from the Research sector until the internal lockdown is lifted.
FBC staff 1: Then see what you can find around here. Computers, documents, any measuring devices you can find. Helping Pope is a surefire way to get on Darling’s good side.

FBC staff 1: Pope has asked us to document the Hiss incantation, as she calls it.
FBC staff 2: You mean like, in person?
FBC staff 1: In person, with a pencil and a paper. I think she’s trying to get us killed.

FBC staff: I heard you got us out of the safe room. Thanks.

FBC staff: Did these things get into the other sectors? Booker, Suzanne, Delgato, they’re all dead.

FBC staff: I’m surprised Tommasi isn’t here giving some big speech about overcoming adversity.

FBC staff: God… I hope Donna made it to a safe room in time. What happened to everyone who didn’t make it to a safe room? I can’t take this. I can’t take this.

FBC staff: Where are the security teams? They’re supposed to handle these sorts of things.

FBC staff: God, I’m hungry. Wonder if I could reach the cafeteria without running into any of those things. I think they were serving pancakes.

FBC staff: I wish I’d never even heard of this place. Should have stayed with the FBI.

FBC staff: Moving buildings, other dimensions, flying TVs, and now these things?

FBC staff: Only the people with HRAs survived. Interesting.

FBC staff: Pope waltzes into the boardroom and says it’s her office. Who the hell does she think she is? Why are we trusting Pope to lead our research? She’s not even a department chief.

FBC staff: If this is all because some Altered Item got loose, I’m going to kill Langston.

FBC staff: How are we supposed to gather data if we can’t get close to those things?

FBC staff: This is only happening in Executive, right? The other sectors might be fine, right?

FBC staff: This isn’t just some new threshold effect, is it?

FBC staff 1: If they occupy a host’s mind and utilize their skills, then the Bureau’s number of combat staff just became our biggest liability. I hope survivors in Research are closer to finding a solution for this. But… What if we’re the only ones left?
FBC staff 2: I say we make a break for the exit. If we stay here, we’re just going to end up turning Hiss.
FBC staff 3: The building lockdown is in effect to keep the Hiss quarantined. We couldn’t open the doors even if we wanted to.
FBC staff 2: So we’re stuck here with the monsters, left to die?

FBC staff 1: I can’t believe we’re doing this. I’m a senior executive.
FBC staff 2: Apparently, the Hiss are infiltrating control points. Pope says setting these things up may help.
FBC staff 1: But I don’t even know what I’m doing. She should find some maintenance grunt to do this.

FBC staff 1: They’re saying Trench was shot dead. The situation’s getting worse.
FBC staff 2: I saw Trench and Darling arguing a couple weeks ago. Trench was furious. you don’t think Darling…
FBC staff 1: Don’t be stupid. What would the Bureau’s golden child have to gain from killing the Boss?

FBC staff 1: I heard the Hiss attacked the power plant. Brings up a lot of new questions. Are they communicating, coordinating? What about the plant attracted them?
FBC staff 2: The power plant is largely confidential. No use guessing the Hiss’s motives if we don’t even know what kind of energy it uses.
FBC staff 1: What do you mean? It has to be a fusion reactor. There’s no other way to create that kind of energy output, right?

FBC staff 1: They say the new Director can launch objects up to 20ft.
FBC staff 2: Bullshit! We’ve never recorded any distance over five.
FBC staff 1: Obviously, you never read the P6 data.

FBC staff 1: A lot of these questions could be answered by obtaining a live specimen.
FBC staff 2: Here? But we don’t have the proper facilities.
FBC staff 1:Maybe we can bring in an observation unit from the Containment sector. I’ll put in a request with Pope.

FBC staff 1: Trench is dead and Tommasi turned Hiss. We’re running out of management.
FBC staff 2: Marshall should be here. If anyone could fight the Hiss off, it’d be her.

FBC staff: Can’t believe I’m missing a college game tonight. Rexes against the Sabers.
Terrible things happen at the Bureau, yeah, but it’s always in containment or research, not executive!

FBC staff: Fucking manual labor. I didn’t take a government job to use my hands.

FBC staff: So Tommasi turned Hiss. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.

FBC staff: I should have called my folks back. Why do I never call them back?

FBC staff: Almost done. I hope I got this right.

FBC staff: Someone will come. Someone will know what to do.

FBC staff: That rumbling sounded pretty bad. Was that the power plant?

FBC staff: We won’t hold this spot for long without some Rangers.

FBC staff 1: Ah, there’s no logic to this!
FBC staff 2: I don’t see the connection, but it’s clearly interdependent.
FBC staff 1: I hope the grease monkeys and Maintenance can keep the lights on. A blackout would be the end of us.
FBC staff 2: All I need to do is beat Pope to the solution. If a solution is even possible.

FBC staff: We’re in the dark here. Where’s Darling when we need him?

FBC staff: The HRA reacts to the Hiss resonance, negating it. But to codify the Hiss genetic sequence using real to real technology would take…. Oh, Christ!

FBC staff: Come on. You’re smarter than this. People are counting on you. Focus. Help your friends by not worrying. Worrying only wastes time. Focus on the work.

FBC staff: I can’t believe these suits lasted as long as they have.

FBC staff 1: He’s off. We’re all in this together.
FBC staff 2: Bullshit! I didn’t see them fighting to retake the HRA lab. Rangers always get left to pick up management’s shit.

FBC staff 1: What’s your read on all this?
FBC staff 2: It’s bad, but we can handle it. Just like we handled that Altered Item making everyone drown themselves in the toilets.
FBC staff 1: Trench contained that thing and he’s gone now.

FBC staff 1: We should be out there! Those things are killing our buddies while we babysit the execs.
FBC staff 2: You heard Marshall. We need to be smart about this. They’ve got control of the entire Bureau.
FBC staff 1: Fuck that! The longer we sit here, the worse it’s gonna get.

FBC staff 1: Did you see me take down one of those flying motherfuckers?
FBC staff 2: Bullshit you did.
FBC staff 1: You want me to go to Research? Haul it here for you to see? I’ll do it. Doubt me again and I’ll fucking do it.

FBC staff: It’s ridiculous. Pope’s grasping at straws.

FBC staff 1: Why? If Hiss is a frequency, then why couldn’t it vibrate molecules in order to alter human physiology? It would explain the hair loss
FBC staff 2: Think about it. The precision that would require is unthinkable.

FBC staff 1: Pope wants us to compile all of Darling’s data entries from the past months.
FBC staff 2: She wants us to crack Darling’s personal logs?! He’ll crucify us if he finds out. Who does she think she is, authorizing that kind of data breach?
FBC staff 1: She must think he’s hiding something. And I agree. The HRas alone are proof Darling knew more than he let on.

FBC staff: Looking good on hardware. Grenades? Running low. We’re going through ammo like something to go through things fast. Wait, somebody took the RPG! Marshall’s going to kill me.

FBC staff: Another box of ammo unaccounted for. Nobody respects the clipboard. Once the new HRAs start rolling in, I’ll need to make a tracking sheet for them too.

FBC staff: I was moving up, damn it. Oh, in another year, department chief was mine. Then this happens.

FBC staff: We don’t have the facilities here to analyse something as complex as the Hiss. Pope’s delusional.

FBC staff 1: Every time I think it makes sense, the pattern shifts.
FBC staff 2: We have to figure this out. No one else is going to do it.

FBC staff : All these references to Hedron… There’s something we’re missing.

FBC staff: I wonder if other species would verbalize the Hiss resonance like human hosts do.

FBC staff: We’re wasting time. Hasn’t Marshall ever heard the best defense is a good offense? We’ve got to get back in the field. Who knows how many Rangers are waiting for backup?

FBC staff: Marshall’s back. Things will start to get back to normal.

FBC staff: Marshall will get the Rangers to clean this mess up. We’ll be out of here in no time.

FBC staff: I wonder if that weird janitor had a hand in this. I never trusted that freak.

FBC staff: That new Director better not think about hitting my department with a reorg.

FBC staff: Darling always seems to have these things under control. We could really use him right now.

FBC staff: Sounds like the new Director is handling things as well as she can. Hell of a first day.

FBC staff: I feel useless. What can someone from admin do against this kind of thing?

FBC staff 1: Marshall orders us to just sit on our asses and then leaves?! What’s her deal?
FBC staff 2: She must have her reasons. She’s probably out doing some recon.
FBC staff 1: Then she should have taken us with her. I need some action, goddamn it!

FBC staff 1: What do you know about this Arish guy?
FBC staff 2: I heard some Ranger saying he saved them in Maintenance. They were attacked by a new kind of Hiss and Arsih got them out.
FBC staff 1: All right, but still! A security guard leading Rangers? I don’t know if I like taking orders from a mall cop.

FBC staff 1: Did you see that Hiss they marched through here? Why the fuck didn’t we put a bullet in that thing’s head?
FBC staff 2: I heard it’s the Director’s brother. Would you shoot your brother?
FBC staff 1: That’s no one’s brother anymore. He’s the enemy. Plain and simple.

FBC staff 1: Apparently, the Director restored HRA production. They’re already getting other survivors out of safe rooms.
FBC staff 2: Great! Maybe I can get back to my office soon. I miss having a door to close on people.
FBC staff 1: I think you’re going to have to endure the inconvenience a little longer.

FBC staff 1: Just when I thought things were stabilizing, Marshall abandons us. I’m sick of no one telling us what’s going on.
FBC staff 2: Information’s always been on a need-to-know basis.
FBC staff 1: Well, I need to fucking know! I’m an upper level executive! Damn it!

FBC staff 1: Lots of interesting data off that subject the Rangers brought in.
FBC staff 2: I heard that he voluntarily entered captivity. That’s what Pope said anyway.
FBC staff 1: She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Hiss aren’t that self-aware.

FBC staff 1: Why haven’t we dissected that freak mutation we locked up? We could learn so much from its physiology.
FBC staff 2: He’s a valuable resource alive, and Pope forbade any physical harm. Of course, if you disagree, you could always go tell her.
FBC staff 1: No, that’s… fine. I’m sure we can find a more constructive use of our time.

FBC staff 1: Did you know that the Hiss prisoner they captured is the Director’s brother?
FBC staff 2: Brother? And she brought him here? She’s going to get us all killed!
FBC staff 1: What if she’s working with the Hiss? Isn’t it strange she showed up just when they did?

FBC staff 1: They’re endangering us by bringing a Hiss in here. If Trench was still around, he’d have stopped this.
FBC staff 2: Please. Trench was part of the same shadowy group that are responsible for every disaster this country’s ever seen.
FBC staff 1: Zachariah Trench was a national hero. Keep your conspiracy nonsense to yourself.

FBC staff 1: That Dylan guy creeps me the fuck out. I can’t believe we just let a Hiss stroll in here.
FBC staff 2: So, Pope’s got herself a pet Hiss. This is why scientists shouldn’t make the calls.

FBC staff 1: Bringing a live Hiss here endangers us all. Pope is clearly unfit for her role.
FBC staff 2: The lunatics are running the asylum. We need Darling back. The Director has taken a shine to Pope. Explains a lot.

FBC staff: Having access to a live Hiss subject will yield all sorts of useful data. So many variations of the Hiss morphology. I wonder if they’re distinct entities or stages of some rapid evolution process. As usual, more questions than answers.

FBC staff: If the Director’s brother is Hiss, then whose side is she really on?

FBC staff: Arish… Didn’t he used to be a Ranger?

FBC staff: The Hiss have an attack lately. Wonder why they’re so quiet.

FBC staff: More people are finding their way here. The Director must be securing other sectors.

FBC staff: If that Pope woman was so talented, she would have found a solution to all this by now.

FBC staff: God, I wish the executive bathroom hadn’t shifted away. I’d kill for a shower.

FBC staff: I wonder how many agents we’ve lost. We need to learn from this. Better emergency procedures, designated muster points. We’ve lost employees before, but this is too much. We need to do better. Trench left some big shoes to fill.

FBC staff: Marshall didn’t give me any orders before she left. Guess I’ll just keep managing inventory.

FBC staff: Ooof, lots of errors on this form. And they say good stock management would never make a difference.

FBC staff: She’s just another part of it. The cabal, the unseen hands. I know she is. This is all part of their plan. They’re finally moving to exterminate us. To suppress the truth. The Tennyson report was right. The Bureau is just another front for the shadow government. Invaders from the city beyond the quarry. Is the Oldest House really on lockdown? Or is that just what they want us to believe?

FBC staff: I can’t believe Trench is gone. The man was an institution.

FBC staff: None of this would have happened if those morons in Research had more common sense. I bet, when this is all over, we find out Darling was behind it. That man was bound to snap.

FBC staff 1: You heard the Director stop the Hiss, right? Sounds like she can really handle things.
FBC staff 2: Finally, someone had the balls to take the fight to them. It’s about time we had someone other than an old man at the helm.
FBC staff 1: Actually, I agree. She’s beaten the Hiss, over and over. If we win this thing, it’ll be because of her.

FBC staff 1: When do you think Marshall’s coming back? It’s not like her to be absent during a crisis.
FBC staff 2: Marshall’s as tough as they come. You don’t need to worry about her.
FBC staff 1: I hope you’re right.

FBC staff 1: I heard Pope was promoted Head of Research.
FBC staff 2: What? The Director’s just handing out promotions?!
FBC staff 1: I guess you better get in there.

FBC staff 1: Director Faden did a fine job handling this, especially considering how new she is.
FBC staff 2: I suppose, but the Hiss are still all over the Bureau. When is she going to get them out?
FBC staff 1: I’m sure she’s working on it. It wouldn’t kill you to admit she’s doing a good job.

FBC staff 1: Pope is now Head of Research. It’s official.
FBC staff 2: Head of Research? When was the review process? Why weren’t we consulted?
FBC staff 1: Calm down. It’s pretty clear she earned it.
FBC staff 2: So Darling is really gone. End of an era.
FBC staff 1: That’s what they’re saying. I heard something about him falling into a different dimension.
FBC staff 2: That sounds like a perfect way for a man of science to go. Godspeed, you brave son of a bitch.

FBC staff 1: Pope wants a full physical examination of Dylan Faden. Specifically looking for any physiological abnormalities.
FBC staff 2: Abnormalities? Does she think the Hiss is still inside him?
FBC staff 1: She wants to rule it out entirely before we move on with our analysis. She’s determined to learn how he survived the cleansing process.

FBC staff 1: Did Dylan survive the cleansing process because of his exposure to the Hedron resonance?

FBC staff 1: The Director shut it down. No problem. It’s a huge victory. Huge!
FBC staff 2: I heard she sacrificed her brother’s soul to seal the Hiss dimension.
FBC staff 1: What are you talking about? I’ve told you a hundred times to stop with your conspiracy horseshit.

FBC staff 1: There’s no way this happened by accident. I’m telling you, the Board arranged this to whittle down our numbers. To prepare.
FBC staff 2: Can’t you just process these staff files quietly? I don’t want to hear this.
FBC staff 1: You don’t want to hear how we’re just sheep being led to slaughter by our own ignorance? Fine. Fine!

FBC staff: Pope has a knack for this work. I’ll give her that.

FBC staff: The ambient Hiss presence in this sector has reduced, likely due to the Director’s intervention.

FBC staff: I can’t believe what they were doing in dimensional research. I thought that entire project was just a rumor!

FBC staff: A big reorg of the departments must be coming. I wish I’d worn my good tie.

FBC staff: An introduction to weaponizing HRAs. Pope is ambitious. No denying that.

FBC staff: I haven’t had a moment to think about the mold since the Hiss appeared. I wonder if Dr. Underhill is doing alright.

FBC staff: We need to get ahead of the Hiss. Pope has some wonderful theories, but we need actionable data.

FBC staff: Pope will make a wonderful Head of Research. She has a very intuitive understanding of the paranatural.

FBC staff: The Director really showed those Hiss bastards. Arish better put me on the clean up crew. I could use some target practice.

FBC staff: I hear the Director took on an Astral Spike. God, what a badass! At least, the Hiss bleed. Usually, the shit here is like, I don’t know, an angry rocking chair.

FBC staff: God, duty is so boring.

FBC staff: None of my squads turned up yet. Trench is dead along with Salvador and Tommasi. Marshall’s missing. Darling is… somewhere. How are we going to recover from this?

FBC staff: The Director closes the Hiss dimension and she expects a pat on the back? We’re still on lockdown, for Christ’s sake.

FBC staff: We’re never getting out of here, are we?

FBC staff: I wonder when the building lockdown will be lifted?

FBC staff: The building goes on forever. How deep did the Hiss get?

FBC staff: Now that we’re getting back on our feet, I should really talk to Arish about ration quantities.

FBC staff: This will make a great Night Spring episode. “Visitors from the Red Zone.”

FBC staff: We’re gonna need an additional source of munitions, and fast.

FBC staff: Should I tell Arish about the flying traffic light I saw earlier? No, he looks busy.

FBC staff: Jesse Faden? That’s a made-up name if I ever heard one. She must be one of them.

FBC staff: So the Director whose brother is Hiss just happens to find the secret Hiss entrance and close it. How convenient.

FBC staff: The planet isn’t round or flat. It’s obviously a non-ucullitian rhombus. My report is almost ready. It’ll blow the lid off this whole thing.

FBC staff: Finally the Bureau really will be in control.

FBC staff: It’s time we got back to work. We’re the Federal Bureau of Control, goddamn it. People rely on us to contain this sort of thing. We can’t let them down.

FBC staff: I can’t believe Trench opened the door for the Hiss. They trusted that man.

FBC staff: Hey there, Director. Thanks again for your help out there.

FBC staff: Lots of work for a medic here. You’re going to be fine. Don’t worry, we got you. You’re safe.

FBC staff: No Hiss followed you in, right?

FBC staff: Welcome back, ma’am. We’ll watch the place while you’re gone. Best of luck.

FBC staff: I heard she saved Marshall from the Hiss.

FBC staff: The new Director got the HRA machine working.

FBC staff: She cleared the Hiss out of luck and probability singlehanded.

FBC staff: I saw her toss furniture around like it was nothing.

FBC staff: Give them hell, Director. We’re all rooting for you.

FBC staff: Pope speaks very highly of you, ma’am.

FBC staff: On behalf of the Rangers, thank you for all you’ve done.

FBC staff: You saved our lives, Director. We won’t forget it.
